Yesterday, April 15th, was the 117th annual Boston Marathon that is held annually on Patriot’s Day and a day of tragedy. At this point, we have all heard about the bombing incident that took place at the marathon. Lives were lost, many were injured and fear, shock and other emotions have overcome our country.
While I have not been directly affected by the tragedy, my hurt is heavy for those who have lost loved ones, for those who have been injured and for the changes in the lives of those present as a result of this incident.
As I sat in bed last night reading more about the updates from the bombing and going through the video clips and photos posted on CNN’s US News page, I asked myself, “what can I do?”
- Pray: Pray for the families affected, pray for the leaders of our country, pray for safety and security of our country. Just pray.
- Donate: The Red Cross and Salvation Army are accepting donations as well as Boston’s Children’s Hospital for those who have been injured.
While these are only two ways to help, as time goes on, more opportunities will be available as more news is available about the bombing.
